Transparency Is Everything

A letter to the curious, the skeptics, and the researchers at heart.

Let’s be honest—no one should be making career decisions off a shiny ad or a perfectly edited success story.

Especially not for something as real as this.

Not when you’re betting on your future.

We believe product & UX folks especially deserve to do their research.

Not just because it’s smart—but because if you’re really meant to be a product designer, it’s kind of your first test.

So Here’s the Mission (if you choose to accept it):

Figure out how the cohort works.

Decide if it’s right for you.

Before you apply. Before you pay.

Sound radical? Maybe.

But this shouldn’t be a mystery.

And we’re not here to convince you it has to make sense for you.

We believe:

  • You shouldn’t trust online reviews—you should see the real thing.

  • You shouldn’t be sold over a sales call—you should interview us, too.

  • You shouldn’t pay unless you understand the risks, benefits, and realities.

  • You should be able to talk to alumni, and get the unfiltered story.

  • You should be able to see the progress & the raw output.

Being a designer isn’t easy.

It’s competitive.

It’s not for everyone.

Anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.

We’ll never promise you a dream job.

What we will promise is full transparency—and show you what it takes to get from A - B, which alumni got their dream jobs from the cohort, what it took them, and why the best shot is building something real.

Introducing: The Cohort Pass

Launching this September

The Cohort Pass is our way of bringing the amazing value of the cohort to more students and career switchers around the world.

Instead of paying first and asking questions later, now you get to observe the program as it happens.

If you’re a student at a partnered university (we’re finalizing those now), you’ll get free access with your .edu email.

If you’re not in school, you can still apply for discounted access—your application will be reviewed by our alumni team (yes, actual former cohort grads like you who are career switchers now working at their dream jobs). If they think you’re a good match, they’ll unlock it for you.

With the Cohort Pass, you’ll get:

  • A front-row seat to see how the cohort actually works

  • Access to live workshops, lectures, and team all-hands

  • Weekly progress updates from cohort teams (via public Progress updates)

  • An inside look at the culture, process, and outcomes—before spending a dollar

  • This stuff is what a full online course will usually try to sell you for thousands of dollars. Don’t believe us? See this link to just a free prep guide we send to upcoming cohort students.

What You Won’t Get (and why):

  • No team placement

  • No 1:1 mentorship or alumni coaching

  • No founder or dev team access

  • No work experience, portfolio case studies, or resume help

  • No UXGO lifetime membership

  • So sadly, no actual cohort project.  Basically, watching your favorite concert at home, not physically there with VIP seats.

Why not?

Because the real cohort is a focused build sprint modeled after a big tech internship.

The founders are shipping. The coaches are leading. The designers are giving it their all.

This isn’t a livestream or a course. It’s real work.

And out of respect for the people in it, we don’t open it up for drop-in demo spectators. It would be weird if you were interning at Google and a bunch of ppl are staring into your window, right?

So if you’re genuinely curious about just upskilling yourself in industry knowledge, or how this cohort all works, and want to make the right call?

Then Cohort Pass is for you.

Why We’re Doing This

Look—we know not everyone can afford the cohort, even with grants, scholarships, or payment plans.

It's a delicate problem to solve, we’ve had members pay and still not fully commit and work hard—so tuition helps ensure mutual selection and successful outcomes.

We rly wish we could one day have enough sponsors to make the whole experience fully free, offered to only the most deserving, and we are confident that one day we will get there.

However, we still believe the learning and exposure should be accessible to anyone who truly wants to understand the space and is driven.

This isn’t about FOMO.

It’s all about fit & helping as many students as possible without sacrificing the experience of the cohorts.

If Cohort feels right, apply soon—spots go fast since there are so few.

But if you’re unsure or just exploring, the Cohort Pass helps you get started.

No pressure. No filters.

And if it speaks to you? You’ll know.

We’ll be ready.

Coming Soon:

  • Cohort Pass launches publicly in September

  • Early access available for existing UXGO members (free to join, 7-day trial)

  • Partner university rollouts begin this fall

If you have ideas for what you’d like to see in the pass—DM us. This whole thing is for you.
